No me arrancan las X (Xorg)

Question No me arrancan las X (Xorg)

Hola a tod@s.

¡ Tener lo último siempre conlleva estás cosas !

Me acabo de comprar un COMPAQ Presario V6000. Este portátil tiene una tarjeta de video "nVidia GeForce Go 6150". He estado mirando en la página de SUSE sobre el hardware soportado, y soporta esta tarjeta pero NO en modo 3D.

¡OJO! No quiero el modo 3D, por lo que debería poder arrancar las X (Xorg) en mi SUSE 10.1 instalada.

Después de la instalación, he actualizado todo KDE a 3.5.5. Antes de actualizar, arrancaba en modo "FAILSAFE (a prueba de fallos)" y desde la línea de comandos arrancaba las X (startx), esto me arrancaba KDE.

Después de la actualización, no me arrancan las X ni en modo a prueba de fallos. Me da un error y un log Xorg.0.error.log, pero no se como editar el LOG en línea de comando.

Tampoco se si he de instalar el driver de nvidia, o si la instalación me lo ha instalado.

DiabloRojo llegará a ser famoso muy pronto
El comando "mc" te puede servir o con el editor nano: "nano /var/log/Xorg.0.log" o con este comando:
" cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE "

No es necesario el driver de nvidia ya que no quieres aceleracion 3D y no dices desde que repostorio has actualizado KDE.

Es importante el mensaje de error para saber lo que pasa y repararlo.

Es el driver de nvidia que falla, en la consola virtual ejecuta la siguiente secuencia de comandos como superusuario root:
sax2 -m 0=nv

Si no funciona con el driver nv prueba con el driver vesa en el mismo comando.

DiabloRojo llegará a ser famoso muy pronto
Habras hecho mas cosas, ya que la ejecucion de ese comnado solo puede traer como consecuencia que te quedes sin Servidor X, es decir, sin escritorio KDE o Gnome.
La salida que das no me dice nada de nada por que no existe fallo alguno.
Sobre la particion de recuperacion, dederais haber buscado en el foro por que creo que alguien dio una solucion sobre eso.

Me da que el boot que te he posteado, es del arranque en FAILSAFE mode, por lo que este no creo que haya problemas. ¿Cómo puedo hacer para postearte el boot.msg del arranque en real?

Lo tienes cascado, hay que repararlo. Mete el dvd o cd1 como si lo fuera a instalarlo de nuevo, en la pantalla donde aparece dos opciones:
Instalacion nueva
Actualizacion...
Abajo hay un boton llamado "Otros" pinchalo que es donde esta la opcion de reparacion, utiliza la automatica que tardara un tiempo.
